Today I bring to you one of the most interesting tutorials that will help solve a long standing problem for online store owners.
This tutorial focus on helping you get a reliable payment gateway to accept international payment for your e-commerce stores -- delivered to you free of charge and is available only on Kikimat
Let's get started.. .
A payment gateway for e-commerce stores to accept payment globally in some parts of the world including Nigeria without using a VPN or changing of IP address have always been a major problem
But today, the solution have been found. Yes, the solution is finally here!
Most interestingly, you don't have to worry about your IP address or using a strong VPN service
Now, which payment processor is behind this solution?
And the answer is:
Yes, Paystack is the company providing this solution.
Paystack is free. If you don't have a Paystack account, you can open your free account now @ https://paystack.com
How does it work?
According to information on the Paystack website
"We’re currently running a pilot of USD settlement, meaning that we’re actively working to support more settlement banks and refine the process over time.
For now, you’ll need to have a Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) Domiciliary account to be able to get settled in USD. (If you don’t have one, this short guide from GTBexplains how to get started).
Next, you then link the GTB Domiciliary bank account to your business on Paystack. Here’s how:
- Log into your Paystack Dashboard
- Click on Settings
- Click on the new Bank Accounts tab
- Click on Add bank account on the USD row
- Add your USD domiciliary GTB account number
Your USD bank account will be reviewed within 24 to 48 hours. Once this is done, you will be able to list your products in USD, your customers will be able to make international USD to your business, and Paystack will settle you in USD - easy!
How long before you get settled?
Paystack settles all international USD payments into merchants’ GTB domiciliary bank accounts 7 working days after customers pay. So, say a customer pays you in USD today, the amount paid will reflect immediately on your Dashboard, and you’ll get settled into your bank account 7 working days from today.
The processing fee?
Paystack charges a processing fee of 3.9% per USD transaction"
You are now ready to start accepting international payments in your Shopify and Woocommerce stores
Setting Up Your E-commerce Store
If you don't have a store yet, you can set one up now.
But which e-commerce platform should you choose when creating your store?
Shopify and Woocommerce are among the most popular options, and you can start selling online using any of them.
Remember that Shopify is a hosted solution with monthly subscription fees.
While Woocommerce is a free solution. But you will have to host it by yourself.
If you choose the Shopify platform, then you will have to go over to Shopify.com and create your store, set it up, integrate the Paystack payment gateway and start selling to both local and international customers.
Shopify will give you a 14days free trial after which you will start paying the monthly subscription fees for your store.
Maybe you are worried about the Shopify subscription fees, and want to run your Shopify store for free until you make over 48 sales. If such is the case, then send me a message here @Admin
Next is Woocommerce
Woocommerce is the best option when it comes to creating an online store.
Let me explain this a bit.
Woocommerce give you an independent e-commerce store with full control over your store.
Unlike Shopify, Woocommerce is 100% free to create your store and start selling online. No subscription fees ever.
However, if you are not a Web Master, you will find it very challenging.
Woocommerce is powered by WordPress. And to create your store with Woocommerce, you must register a domain name, get a Hosting account, install WordPress on your website and finally install Woocommerce to get started.
After you have successfully created your Woocommerce store, you will want to install and integrate the Paystack payment gateway for your store to start accepting payments from local and international customers.
Like I earlier said, if you are not a Web Master, you will find this option very challenging.
But it is the best. Plus you can learn how to do it. So don't scared away from Woocommerce because it can be challenging. It can only be challenging when you don't know how to do it.
